Uploading Data into Apricot

Walk through best practices for uploading data into Apricot.

Audience: Admins

The webinar focuses on the foundational knowledge and skills needed to successfully upload data into the Apricot platform. The presenter explains that the "import tool" feature allows administrators to upload records organized in a spreadsheet into both tier one and tier two forms. She walks through the process of preparing an import template, emphasizing the importance of using the "prepare for import" functionality to ensure the spreadsheet is formatted correctly. This includes selecting the desired form, import type (create new, update existing, or both), and review/exclusion of specific data columns.

The second half of the session covers best practices for preparing the data to be uploaded. The presenter stresses the need to review and clean up the source data before transferring it to the import template, as the software will upload exactly what is provided. She highlights key requirements for tier two data imports, such as including the tier one record ID. The final steps demonstrate the actual import process, including uploading the file, assigning access, and reviewing the results for any records that did not successfully import. Attendees are encouraged to leverage Apricot's support resources, including the "Troubleshooting Your Data Upload" webinar, if they encounter any issues during the import process.
