EveryAction is a proud part of the Bonterra Tech family

When it comes to software that empowers nonprofit organizations to retain and steward relationships with donors, Bonterra has everything you need and more. That’s because Bonterra’s award-winning Fundraising and Engagement solution has its origins in several pre-existing nonprofit software companies, such as EveryAction, that merged together to become Bonterra

In this article, we’ll explain what happened to EveryAction and how it became part of the Bonterra family.

What is EveryAction?

Prior to becoming part of Bonterra, EveryAction was already a family of several tools and platforms. In 2014, political campaign software provider NGP VAN launched EveryAction as a nonprofit fundraising platform. While the EveryAction platform was created after the company’s initial founding, EveryAction, Inc. is the parent company name.

From there, EveryAction would continue to expand by purchasing other software companies in the nonprofit sector. These include what are now several Bonterra legacy brands, such as Bonterra’s Mobilize solution, GiveGab, Salsa Labs, and DonorTrends.

The software platform called EveryAction was a constituent relationship management platform (CRM) for nonprofits that allowed charitable organizations to conduct fundraisers, donor outreach, and advocacy campaigns. EveryAction stood out from its competitors by having an accessible price point and ready-made integrations for social media sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.

Today, EveryAction is now part of Bonterra Fundraising and Engagement, while NGP VAN continues to provide software solutions to Democratic and progressive campaigns and organizations.

How Bonterra acquired EveryAction

On June 15, 2021, leading private equity advisory firm Apax Partners LLP announced it had acquired Cybergrants with the intent to invest in it and create a comprehensive social good software platform. On August 3, 2021, these plans would start to take shape with the acquisitions of both Social Solutions and EveryAction.

At this time, the platform was unnamed, but after the acquisition of Network For Good several months later, Bonterra would officially reveal its name and technology solutions.

“The social good community will benefit from this combination of best-in-class solutions, and by connecting nonprofits with a large network of givers. Apax is the perfect partner to help us collectively Do Good and Do Well, given their outstanding track record as a tech investor and their focus on impact,” said then CEO of EveryAction, Stu Trevelyan, in a public joint announcement with Social Solutions, CyberGrants, and Apax.

With this combination of Cybergrants, Social Solutions, and EveryAction, Apax announced the yet-to-be-named Bonterra platform would support over 650,000 nonprofits, half of Fortune 500 companies, and over 38 million donors and volunteers.

Where EveryAction fits in the Bonterra ecosystem

All brands acquired by Bonterra became part of one of our three main software solutions: Strategic Philanthropy, Fundraising and Engagement, and Impact Management. As a former CRM solution, EveryAction is part of Bonterra Fundraising and Engagement.
