BOK Financial needed a quick and easy way to aggregate impact data and build custom reports that would be easily digestible for key stakeholders.
The company tracks three key reporting metrics: charitable contributions, volunteer hours, and the number of board and committee roles held by employees. They also monitor activities that support low- and middle-income (LMI) communities or tie into various strategies. “It’s so nice that I don’t have to worry about saving any of the reports in a folder and then spend time looking for them,” says Derek Ball, senior community and employee engagement specialist at BOK Financial. “I can change the filters and manipulate the data all I want, and it’s just always there and ready,” he says.
Insights slashed the time spent on manual reporting and file searching, letting the team create ready-to-share templates in seconds. But beyond improving efficiency, Insights also gave BOK Financial a clearer view of employee giving preferences and behaviors. Now, they can see which causes employees care about most — whether it’s food insecurity, financial education, or another impactful cause — and tailor future programs to match those interests.
“If we know 65% of our employees are really passionate about a certain cause, we can set up a volunteer program to support those organizations,” Derek explains.
